For the past 26 years, Crossway Community Thrift’s Jacket Frost program has provided new winter jackets for Bow Valley children in need. Thanks to continued community support, our program has helped hundreds of kids in Kindergarten through Grade 12 stay warm in the winter.
To qualify for the program, families are required to have a current ‘Banff Access’ or ‘Canmore Affordability’ card. These cards are available through FCSS Banff and FCSS Canmore based on eligibility. Families must present the card upon pick up, as well as a form of ID for the child (e.g. birth certificate, passport, AB health card).
There will be a change to the program this year and Crossway will now be offering gift cards instead of handing out jackets. These gift cards will be for Mountain Warehouse in Banff and online. This will allow parents the opportunity to choose a size and style that suits their child best. In order to keep the program sustainable, parents may apply for Jacket Frost once every two years. We ask that parents choose a jacket with this in mind.
